Comfort Inn & Suites Wylie

Comfort Inn Wylie called while I was driving in from a few states away, with only about an hour left on the trip, to say they had no room for me. I had booked almost a month earlier. They told me to call a number for a refund, but the corporate number said the hotel had to issue it. I still haven't seen a pending reversal on my card. This was a stressful mess while traveling, especially since I was coming to Wylie for a funeral. Very disappointing.

I was asleep when staff came right into my room before checkout, then tried the door another two or three times. I had to call the front desk, I was so upset. That felt like a serious invasion of privacy. Most of the staff came across as rude and unprofessional, though two were kind and professional. The food was just okay, the AC gave me trouble, and the key card barely worked, sometimes taking 30 tries. I wouldn't stay here.

Our toilet barely flushed, so taking the kids to a gas station to use the bathroom was awful. The front desk said we were “sol” when we brought up the problems, and the other hotels were full because of the tournament. Smoke was so thick on the third floor that our eyes burned, a serious concern with my oldest child's severe asthma, even though this is meant to be a non-smoking hotel. There were little black hairs on the bathtub wall and soap, the mini fridge was broken and ruined our cold food, and the nightstand was still dirty. We spent more staying here than we would have elsewhere. Don't waste your money.

The room had a horrible damp carpet and stale smell, and the shower was gross. The woman at the front had a nasty attitude, though the man who checked me in was professional and nice. Next time we're in town for work, I'll stay somewhere else.
