Ramada by Wyndham Xenia

There are ants everywhere, and the last time we stayed, there were fleas on the beds. We paid $150 for a hot tub room and found stains all over it. The tub leaks and drips water all night, seems to be growing mold because it never dries out, and had hair all over it and the shower, like they hadn’t been cleaned for the next guest. Part of the room’s outlets don’t work either, including the whole left side. When we asked for Raid, they said they didn’t know where any was and handed us a broom. I pay the pet deposit, but every time I walk into the lobby, I still get stopped and asked about my dog, who is certified and needs to be with me. The front desk also asks where you’re going and how long you’ll be gone. They won’t refund you even when you report problems. Best bet is to take videos and send them to corporate.

The staff were friendly and happy to bring us things we needed, and the bathroom was small but otherwise fine. The TV was tiny, though it worked and had basic cable. The fridge and microwave were fairly clean and worked. In a pinch, the room does the job, but I’d look elsewhere if planning a trip ahead. It’s a dated hotel that seems to be falling apart. The ceiling lights were loose and coming out, lamps were broken, furniture was old and stained, and cigarette smoke filled the place even in our nonsmoking room. The beds were rock hard, and if you get a room with two beds, expect full-size ones. They also require a deposit, either $50 on your card or $100 cash. It’s an actual charge that gets refunded, not an authorization hold, so you’ll be out that amount for a few days.

The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and they provided nice shampoo and conditioner. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I checked the mattress corners for bugs and didn’t find anything. For a dated Ramada, it wasn’t too bad, and I might stay again. The hallways and lobby could use a good scrub and some updated furniture. I happened to walk down the hall to the smoking wing, and wow, it stank.

The staff were great, friendly and helpful, and the rooms were decent. We had three adults, but the only mobility rooms available had one king bed. The toilets seemed made for kindergarteners, and the beds were only full size, with no queen option. There weren’t enough pillows or towels. The staff kindly brought us more, but the towels were dirty and stained.
