Xenia Country Inn

We stayed two nights in room 211 on March 25 and 26, 2026. The room was clean and we saw no bugs, and the staff were nice. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning and fridge worked. But the commode was old and sat on plywood that moved. The floor wasn’t level, and when my husband, who is handicapped, sat down, his heels sank and he needed help getting off. The light socket also had a burnt receptacle. The bed cover was worn, the bath towels were small and thin, and there was no coffee or anything. We were going to cancel, but they said we’d only get 40 percent of our $203 payment back, so we stayed. It wasn’t as described on the website, and we won’t stay again. There were people outside smoking and socializing after 10 p.m., and the smoke came into our room. It’s pet friendly, but only certain rooms are. The shower was hot in the evening and barely warm in the morning.

The room was dirty, with stained sheets, a comforter covered in blue stuff and a yellowing spot from what looked like a spill, and a floor that needed sweeping. The fridge was tilted so badly it seemed like it might fall over and was hard to close. The lights kept flickering, and the remodel was a terrible job. There was also a huge gap under the door. I put a towel there to keep cold air out, but the next morning someone using a leaf blower outside blew it halfway across the room. You could hear everything outside, and people passing could probably hear you. It was cold at night, and the room kept getting chilly. The online price said $60 including tax, explicitly saying that was what we’d pay, but it came to $75. Then there was an extra $25 charge on our card for a single hand towel, which they claimed had yellow on it or was yellow or something. We’d only used the towels to dry our hands and maybe wipe water off the counter. The staff were rude when we asked about it, and they wouldn’t even let us keep the towel after charging us. All the towels in our room and the one next door weren’t worth $25. They’d have caught the stains and other things they hadn’t cleaned if they actually inspected rooms. I know you get what you pay for, but charging us for something we didn’t do is unacceptable. Zero out of ten, do not recommend. The place is dirty, the staff suck, and they charge you for things you didn’t even do.

The rooms were filthy, with dirt everywhere from poor cleaning and roaches all over. The man running the front desk made things worse. He gets an attitude, yells and swears at people who ask him to do his job, curses at minors, flips people off, and gives terrible customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I feel sorry for anyone who’s had to stay here and deal with this behavior from people calling themselves business owners.

My daughter and I had a great stay, and the price was great too. Our room was immaculate, with no bug problems at all. The staff were so helpful and got us what we needed right away, especially Andy and the cleaning girl.
