La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Yakima Downtown

Everything was amazing except for the woman at the front desk on Tuesday morning. She was cold and crabby, with no smile or thanks for staying. The woman who checked us in on the evening shift was wonderful. I wish I'd gotten her name, because she could teach the morning person a thing or ten about smiling and treating people well. The rooms were huge and very clean, the pool and hot tub were amazing, and breakfast was pretty great.

I know Yakima well and knew the location was a bit questionable when I booked. My main complaint was where they put my room, right beside the lobby. I could hear kids and families airing their problems just outside my door, with moms and kids yelling for everyone to hear. If I book again, I'll ask for a floor farther from the lobby.

The location felt a little sketchy, but the hotel itself seemed safe and updated, and the rooms were tidy and very clean. The cleaning staff were super nice. The woman at the desk late at night was a bit short and rude, though it was a holiday, so we understand. For the price, we'd definitely come back.

The rooms are nice, the bed was comfortable, and the place was clean. Coffee was good, but breakfast was barely warm when we came at 7:30, half an hour after it started. Too much had been put out for the small number of guests, so it didn't stay warm. There weren't any light yogurt options. There were no vending machines, and the front desk only sold energy drinks and water. Three stars.
