Quality Inn Yemassee

We stopped here on an I-95 trip and had helpful staff get us to our room despite arriving late. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, and the large parking lots fit RVs, buses, and tractor trailers as well as cars. The main lobby was clean and being completely remodeled inside. This Quality Inn is under new ownership, and the family-owned place was friendly, honest, and extremely affordable, even for a last-minute arrival without a reservation. It has easy access from I-95 and plenty of parking for large vehicles. We left our key on a table at the local Waffle House after a late breakfast or brunch. Waffle House unfortunately doesn’t take phone calls except for app takeout orders, so we called the hotel for help. Within 10 minutes, the owner had the key and mailed it to our residence the next day. The local Waffle House is within a quarter-mile drive. Based on the price, cleanliness, staff service, and parking, this place is underrated for its potential to offer even cleaner rooms, great service, and honest management. It’s on our list of overnight stops, and I highly recommend it as an affordable place to sleep along I-95. 🙏❤️

The free breakfast was the one bright spot. I met the new owner the next morning, and he said he was putting all his effort into the Quality Inn. He apologized that I’d been placed in the EconoLodge, but didn’t offer anything to make up for it. I had booked a room in the Quality Inn and ended up in the EconoLodge instead. They’re both here, but the quality is totally different. My room was shabby, dirty, and in poor repair. I kept my socks on because it didn’t seem clean, and they were dirty by morning. Pretty bad stay.

Getting an Uber was difficult since I hadn’t driven here, but I’d still absolutely stay again. The staff were courteous, very nice, and accommodating, and I really enjoyed the hot breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, about what you’d expect for the price. And the TV had tubi, which was a nice bonus.

The place may have potential, but there’s a lot of work to do. We paid extra for the Quality Inn and found it just as bad as the econo lodge. The room didn’t smell clean, the towel was filthy, and we were uncomfortable enough that we cleaned the floor ourselves. The front desk woman was very unpleasant and unprofessional. A hotel front desk should feel warm and welcoming, and this one didn’t. There are better options for a few dollars more. It just wasn’t a good experience.
