Ramada Yonkers

I only picked this hotel because there were no other rooms available nearby, and I regret it. I’ve travelled extensively and stayed at hotels all over the country, and this was the worst I’ve experienced. The rooms were filthy and seemed not to have been maintained in years. The bathroom was atrocious, the air conditioner was broken, and the lamps and lights didn’t work. The hallways looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, and there was graffiti on some of the room walls. I’m not sure how this hotel is still operating. I guess I need to read reviews more carefully before booking next time.

The only thing that almost saved the stay was how friendly one of the morning employees was. The rest was rough. It was hard to get in and out because the building was under active reconstruction. The pillows were so lumpy, and the breakfast was the worst I’ve ever seen. Banging on the walls and from the room above kept me from sleeping on several nights. I’ll stay at the Royal Regency Hotel across the street next time. This was very close to a one-star review.

The staff were very nice, and the location is great, but this old Ramada needs a lot of TLC. The plastic mattress covers left me sweaty at night. There was no closet rod or hangers, the furniture was old and mismatched, and there wasn’t an outlet in the bathroom for a hairdryer. The shower head was cheap and had only one spray setting. The A/C unit needs a good cleaning.

Nothing bad to say about the place. Check-in was quick and easy, there was plenty of parking, and the staff were nice. Everything in the room worked as it should.
