Residence Inn by Marriott Yonkers Westchester County

We wanted a relaxing getaway close to home, and the Marriott Yonkers, Westchester worked really well for our family. The warm indoor pool was the highlight for the kids, and having life vests and a lifeguard on duty was a plus. The hotel felt calm and welcoming, and it was clean and comfortable. A simple, stress-free Westchester staycation where parents and kids could unwind and spend time together.

I was charged a $50 USD fee after checkout, and I still haven't gotten an answer. I've called the hotel many times and was told to email Jeremy Pierrepont, but he hasn't returned my emails or calls. I was allowed to check out by noon and was in the lobby with my kids and luggage before then. They waited there while I loaded the car. Staff knew I had left the room before noon, but they checked me out at the time I finished loading and drove away. Why hasn't anyone resolved this? With the police issue and the resulting food service delay that morning, no one should have been charged for services. There had been a fight in the breakfast area, which led to strange, long delays at the elevator. By the time we reached breakfast, nothing was ready, and we had to ask for bowls, drinks, and food. Service had been great until checkout.

Joanna was the reason my trip was salvaged. She was attentive, hardworking, and so kind, while staying courteous and professional. She has the temperament, resourcefulness, sociability, and integrity of someone far above her pay grade. She deserves to be a manager. And a shoutout to Maya too!

The sofabed bedding was dirty, which stood out in an otherwise nice, clean, well-furnished room. We spent four days here and had a great time overall. The hotel has a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Our electronic keys needed replacing almost every day, though we weren't keeping them near our phones. Breakfast was okay, but food ran out quickly and took a while to replace, so suddenly there'd be a line. The breakfast hours felt too short. It should run until 11 at the latest, like at almost all the hotels I've stayed in. Those little details make a difference.
