Atlantic House Inn

The location is great, and the rooms are clean. We had a suite, so the living area was nice, though the bedrooms were small. Since these are condo rentals, it felt unusual not to see anyone around like you would at a regular hotel. Also, if you turn in early, make sure your room isn’t over the bar. The piano bar was rough to listen to on Friday and Saturday nights.

The staff were great, and the location was exactly where we wanted to be, so we tried moving rooms after the first one turned out to be over the bar. We got back from visiting relatives to find loud music and banging that went on into the early morning. We had a child with us, and none of us could really sleep. The next room wasn’t much better: the AC unit was very close and ran almost constantly, which I found annoying. One bed was in such bad shape that nobody wanted to sleep in it, and a light fixture was missing its globe. For what we paid, the room felt like a seedy, cheap hotel. I didn’t want to move yet again, so we stuck it out for the rest of our stay. I waited a while to write this because I was so frustrated. The rooms needed better cleaning and maintenance, and guests should be told plainly about possible noise issues. The staff knew we weren’t happy. I hope this reaches someone who can make the place as good as it could be.

Dan, the GM, was kind and pointed us toward places open during the week within walking distance, though there weren’t many. We enjoyed a couple of nights away at the Atlantic House, and the suite was roomy. The couch in front of the gas fireplace, though, wasn’t very comfortable.

We didn’t eat here, but saw enough to know we’ll come back. The deck has a great view, and the drink prices were very reasonable for the location. The piano bar was a fun surprise, with a big crowd staying until closing and a great atmosphere.
