I booked because reviews said the rooms were clean. We’d driven from Disneyland and planned to spend the night before finishing the trip home. Myles checked us in at 6:05 p.m. and assigned room 206. As we approached, the door was open and the light was on. Dirty towels were scattered on the floor, the beds weren’t made, and there were no housekeeping carts or staff in sight. On my way back to the desk, I also saw dirty towels outside rooms and garbage in the hallways by the stairs. Myles was kind, apologized, and moved us to room 303, which was supposedly ready. It wasn’t clean either. There was long black hair on the sink, tub edge, floor, and filthy toilet. Hair was also on the beds and AC unit. The room smelled strongly of weed, and there was a dirty diaper in the trash. I know the hotel is inexpensive and not recently updated, but I still expect clean rooms and hallways. People were clearly smoking inside, and with my three young kids, this was unacceptable. I spoke with Myles again with my husband. He agreed the room shouldn’t have been dirty and offered to try another room, but said a refund would be the better option. I accepted, got a corrected invoice, and we left, then drove five hours home. Myles was sweet and helpful, but the hotel wasn’t meeting basic standards. I’d expect rooms to be ready by 6 p.m., and I’m not sure there were housekeepers working that day. My card showed a refund, then another charge appeared, so I hope it comes off once everything processes.

Myles was the best part of the stay. He was friendly and accommodating, found us a first-floor room after I explained I’d recently had knee surgery, and tracked down a working TV remote. The bed was comfortable, we slept well, and despite facing the freeway, we heard no traffic noise. Breakfast was a full hot meal, which was nice. The room was spacious and looked clean at first, but the mattress cover was covered in dog hair. WiFi kept dropping and needed reconnecting. There was no cold water at the bathroom sink, then no hot water in the shower in the morning. The fire detector was disabled, too. The building is older and has no elevator. We were first assigned an upstairs room, and the hotel was hard to find behind a gas station; we initially missed the entrance. At $99 a night, the price was great. Myles really tried to help, but there were several problems: dog hair on the mattress cover, spotty WiFi, no hot shower water or cold sink water, no elevator, and a disabled detector. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, the freeway wasn’t noisy, and breakfast was hot.

The outside wasn’t very inviting, and the hallway smelled of cleaning products, but the room inside was surprisingly clean and roomy. The breakfast was okay too. For the price, it was a fair deal, and I’d gladly stay again for a day or two next time I’m in town. No real complaints.

I stay at this Comfort Inn in Yreka once a month when I have to make the long drive for my son’s doctor appointment, and the rooms have always been extremely clean. It’s a great price for the quality. Nothing feels worn or outdated, and the bedding and even the pillows are always in good shape, not old and ragged, which I hate. The staff are consistently friendly and accommodating, especially with children. Great bargain, and even better service.

It was a great stop for a traveler passing through, with a reasonable price and easy access on and off the highway, plus shopping nearby. The place was very clean, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. My only trouble was finding it: my GPS directions weren’t clear, and the sign was too low to see. I’d definitely stay again. Thanks 🩵
