The room was clean and roomy, with a comfortable bed and great pillows. The shower and toilet area was really tiny, and the TV only had two channels, though you could log in to stream. I travel alone for work and felt safe. Parking is right in front of the room, and there was enough lighting. At check-in, they warned me about the chickens, and wow, there are a lot of them. Keep the door shut unless you want them coming inside. Ask me how I know. The woman who checked me in around 9:15 p.m. was awesome, super nice, and had me sorted in two minutes. Sorry, I may have her name wrong, but thank you!

I spent a night here in February 2026 while on a fishing trip, and later realized I’d lost a fishing reel somewhere along the way. On the off chance it had turned up, I called Best Western Yuba City after getting home. Someone had found it in the parking lot and brought it to the front desk. Thank you to whoever found it! The front desk employee offered to mail it to me if I sent a shipping label, and was friendly, organized, and right on top of everything. That customer service was a refreshing surprise. Thanks, Best Western Yuba City!
The breakfast is fantastic, and the staff are amazingly friendly. It's a good value, as long as you can live with wild roosters running around and waking you up in the morning.
I arrived at this Best Western at 3:00 AM Friday, exhausted and needing sleep before work. Lance at the front desk checked me in as though I were booking Thursday night, even though I was there Friday morning for the upcoming day. He never explained that I wasn't paying for the night I thought I was getting. At 11:00 AM Friday, Christine, the manager, called out of nowhere to say my belongings had already been taken from the room. I had to come back right away to “purchase another night” or pay a late-checkout fee. I explained that I had checked in for Friday and Lance knew I'd arrived at 3 AM. She didn't care, apologize, or explain. She just demanded that I return. I had to leave work and drive back to collect my things from a room I'd paid $135 for, after using it only from 3 AM to 11 AM because they hadn't told me what I was actually being charged for. It felt like straight-up robbery. Not one manager, Christine included, would offer even a small discount, refund, or accommodation for the huge inconvenience. If Lance had been upfront, I'd have gladly slept in my truck instead of paying for a night I didn't use. I called corporate hoping for some common sense. Alexis sounded like a scripted robot and kept hiding behind “policy.” She passed me to Kate (Agent ID 58986), who repeated the same thing word for word. It felt like the company trains people to recite rules instead of helping actual human beings. No wonder this brand is fading. The customer service died before the reputation did. I'll never stay at a Best Western again, and I'd strongly recommend others avoid it too. Plenty of hotels understand hospitality. This place clearly doesn't.
The breakfast was great, but roosters will wake you around 3AM - 4AM. I also accidentally left my son's brand new tablet charger plugged in beside the lamp. It never made it to lost and found, so I'll have to buy another one.
