Spark by Hilton Yucca Valley Joshua Tree

The hotel was clean and modern, but if you're counting on free breakfast to save time and money, this may not suit you. The included choices were bagels, cereal, hard-boiled eggs sitting in egg water, muffins, and oatmeal packets. I get that it may be busy, but most Hiltons give you more choices. They also advertise items for purchase that are free at many other Hilton locations. For the price, I don't think guests should have to buy parts of what is supposed to be a complementary breakfast.

Recently renovated, clean, and basic. The beds were very comfortable, and the three queen option worked well for a larger group. Parking by the check-in side was an issue because the whole back section was closed, but we managed. It had everything we needed for a quick 1-3 day stay in the JT area.

The property was well maintained, and the rooms, beds, bathrooms, and other areas were clean and nicely updated. Breakfast was very basic, but it matched what the website advertised. The hotel has two separate buildings, so let them know ahead of time if you book multiple rooms and want them in the same one. It's very close to Joshua Tree NP, with lots of good places to eat nearby. Try some local restaurants for a great experience.

Our room was large and clean, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. The rest was a mess. We waited 20 minutes to check in, then at 4:40 PM were told the room wasn't ready. The staff seemed annoyed, unfriendly, and unhelpful. There was no water in the gym and no coffee machine or cups in the room. The laundry was on site, but they didn't sell detergent or offer quarters for exchange. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay again. I've never seen worse management at another hotel, and I'm very surprised this is a Hilton.
