Hotel La Misión

The hotel has potential, and the hospitality could be better. It was raining hard, but the lady closed the shared sitting room, so we had to stay in our bedroom. I would have opened it for a cup of coffee or a nice glass of wine.

Better than the reviews suggested. The location is great, the reception people are friendly, and the aircon isn't noisy. Wi-Fi reaches the rooms, and while it's not the best, it works.

Step outside and you're at the main square, the Street of Sighs, and the Citadel Gate. Everything is right there, in a fantastic location. I stayed with my family and the staff were always attentive, with exceptional service. Our room was comfortable and had air conditioning, and we enjoyed the breakfast. We'll be back.

The location caught me when I arrived exhausted after a 12-hour shift, but that was a big mistake. The room was upstairs, mediocre, and felt like a high-turnover hotel room. I paid over $100 and should have canceled as soon as I saw it. The next morning's breakfast was the last straw. Booking.com mentioned "natural juices," but what we got was a disgusting Tang-type powdered drink. The "fresh fruit" was a small plate with tiny watermelon and melon cubes and four grapes. I tried a croissant and found a beautiful hair woven into it. I don't know whether it came from the poor woman doing all the work or from the bakery. At a nearby table the owner was with, presumably, an architect or designer, planning a possible future. They'd do better to focus on the present. I left without saying anything because another table was occupied by two people and there were four guests total, so I gave them a discount. I hope they can fix this. Personally, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. Calling it La Misión Charme seems too hasty when it's still a luxury guesthouse.
