Clean rooms and A/C that worked well in the heat of the Uruguayan summer. A charming hotel in an excellent location, just steps outside the historic city center.

Such a beautiful, authentic hotel, and you can feel the care in it. I loved breakfast, and the people working here are so kind 🩷. The pool is nice too. Even days after we had checked out, we were able to leave our luggage here while we were away 🙏.

We left after the first night, even though we'd booked three. It was an awful and traumatic stay at Posada del Angel, and we would NEVER recommend it. We found other accommodation as soon as we could. The first room faced the street, and its windows didn't close properly. Then we were moved to the back of the building, where flies and cockroaches were everywhere. The room smelled bad, and the king bed was two small beds pushed together. When we told the front desk, the response was that it was an old building and they could give us spray temporarily. We obviously didn't want to fill the room with aerosol before going to sleep. We even had to cover the bathroom drain to keep cockroaches from coming into the room. I could hear them trying to crawl up. Disgusting. Breakfast was not good at all, and the woman working in the kitchen was extremely unfriendly. My partner and I are Black and Asian, and we were the only people of color at the hotel. We were shocked that she didn't smile at or look at us, while treating the other guests kindly and paying close attention to their needs. This facility should not be operating at all.

The location is very good, but I was disappointed by how overpriced it was. The whole angel theme also felt a bit tacky to me.
