Radisson Hotel Colonia del Sacramento

At 150EUR/170USD+ a night in low season, I expected water in the room, but there wasn't any. Staff were so-so, neither rude nor friendly. The rooms and hallways had a strange musty smell. The bathroom, especially the shower area, hadn't been cleaned properly. We found other people's hairs and eyelashes around the tub, and the walls felt greasy and slippery with old soap residue. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were a huge letdown too, with black and green mould everywhere, a broken shower, and no ambience. These chain hotels are ripping people off all over the world and need to be put out of business. Please don't stay here. Choose independent hotels or Airbnbs instead.

We booked through Expedia. The service was good and the location right along the river was great. The room, though, was small and tired. We spent most of our time wandering around the historic town of Colonia. Cheers! 🍻

The pools are fairly nice, but need updating and were mouldy and unclean in places. They aren't easy to find, especially the indoor pool. You have to go to reception for towels and wind your way through a maze. Cleanliness and changing facilities were lacking, and the sauna wasn't very hot. The pools could use a big upgrade. The hotel's in the centre of town, which is convenient, and the rooms are nice except for the bathroom. I was disappointed that water wasn't provided and had to be paid for when requested. The staff's English wasn't good, so communication was difficult. The bathroom was dirty, with a cockroach, and the tap had mould and hairs. For the price, I'd stay somewhere smaller and cute without a pool instead.

Keep away from a first-floor room, because people going past the pool will look straight in. The place is shabby and run down despite the hype, and children were screaming and running up and down the halls all night. Breakfast was very basic, just lunch meat and bread that didn't seem fresh. I wouldn't call it fancy. The restaurant is usually empty, and I figure there's a reason for that, so I'm not going to try it.
