Cabañas Cambalache

Juan and Camila were excellent hosts and always ready to help. The cabins are quite clean, with good ventilation, a fridge, microwave, small oven, and cooking utensils, though a few things are missing. They’re roomy enough for six, with covered parking right in front of each one and easy access. Each has its own barbecue and outdoor dining area. All the cabins face the central pool and shared barbecue space, which has tables and a bar. It’s away from the center, near La Serena Beach.

Gustavo was a friendly, attentive host who was quick to help, and I’d definitely come back. The cabins are rustic and pet-friendly, set in a very quiet area that’s great for relaxing. La Serena beach is also pet-friendly and about 10 short blocks away. The center of La Paloma is a short walk, though having a car is ideal. There’s a large pool, a patio barbecue area, double private parking for each cabin, and good ventilation. The facilities could use some maintenance, and the kitchen needs a few basics like a pot, kettle, and cutting board.

There’s potential here, but it badly needs maintenance. The cabin we got was filthy and in rough shape, with mosquito nets patched with tape and nails coming loose. The roof was cracked, and on very hot days spiders got inside, making it feel like Jumanji. Basic kitchen utensils and a TV were missing. There was just a hole with a cable hanging out where the TV used to be. Even small basics were overlooked: we arrived to find no toilet paper in the bathroom, which is unacceptable.

We had a fantastic time there with the girls. It’s a rustic, super quiet place, and the cabins are really comfortable. Downtown La Paloma is only 5 minutes away. Highly recommended.
