Hotel Perla Del Este

After an eight-hour drive, we arrived in the afternoon with an older adult and a child in the car, only to learn the hotel was full and couldn’t take us. We had booked in October, received confirmation, and later asked about payment. They said we could pay at check-in. They offered no help at all and left us to sort everything out ourselves. We lost our beach day and eventually found somewhere to sleep far from the beach. The next day, we could only load the car and continue our trip. A terrible experience. I would never recommend it.

We were left with nowhere to sleep when we arrived, and the hotel offered only an apology, with no solution. They said they had “lost” our booking, though we’d reserved more than two months earlier and messaged five days before check-in to confirm. I can’t recommend staying here. If you do, confirm your reservation more than once, since apparently it can “disappear.”

The staff’s warmth is what keeps me coming back, especially Mailen, the manager, who really goes out of her way to make sure we have a good stay. I spend 20 days here every year, and it feels like home. The location in the old town of La Paloma is very convenient. I’m so happy here. Thank you!

The portions are tiny, and breakfast comes on plastic dishes. It doesn’t look like the photos.
