The first impression was good. I was glad to find a calm, welcoming place with warm service. The rooms looked clean, air conditioned, and well kept, and I liked the decor and colors. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, though the coffee wasn’t. That peaceful feel didn’t last. Loud generic pop played on the outdoor speakers all day after the first day. It was hard to read or write by the pool, and napping in the afternoon was tough too since the walls are thin or all glass. A lot of what seemed good at first felt flimsy and started breaking. The comforters had no covers, which seemed unhygienic. The plastic drain covers in the shower and patio were broken, and I cut my foot on one. The pool deck was weathered wood with rusty nails sticking out, so wear shoes and watch your step. I found it amusing to kill and catch cockroaches during my stay, but dealing with them really should be the owners’ job, maybe they need an exterminator. My stay was okay in the end. The breakfast really was delicious, the female owner was very hospitable, and the location was decent. For my birthday, I invited a girlfriend to spend the afternoon at the pool, just to swim and eat something on the terrace. As soon as her toe touched the water, the male owner rushed out yelling. He said she couldn’t use the pool or come into my room. I was taken aback by how aggressive he was. I’ve never had trouble elsewhere over inviting someone for a couple of hours. We understood the rules as he explained them and got out right away, but he kept lecturing and scolding us for about ten minutes, which felt like forever. It ruined the mood, and we sat on the terrace confused and unnerved. This place might do for a last resort if everything else is booked, but it fell short of that first impression.
