Dunas del Este

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the staff did their best to help us relax and enjoy ourselves. The owners seemed to work right alongside everyone else, and were every bit as warm and kind. It was hard to tell who was an owner unless someone pointed them out. The rescued kittens, peacocks, and their chicks were all roaming around calmly, which seemed to fit the easygoing feel of the place. Our cabin was cozy, fully equipped, and felt like home, with lovely natural surroundings. Our 12-year-old could wander about without us worrying. The pools, restaurant, spa, and gym were all close by. The phrase they gave me for the rating link was, “AT DUNAS DEL ESTE WE LOVE TO HOST YOU.” That sums up the experience well. I honestly can’t think of a moment when I felt otherwise.

The breakfast was delicious and had an incredible range of choices. We’ve been twice and had an excellent experience each time. The rooms are comfortable, the property is spotless, and the location is great. With different areas for different needs, it’s a lovely fit for a retreat or a relaxing break. The pools are immaculate, and the staff are very attentive. We’ll come back whenever we can.

Even on the several bad-weather days, there was plenty to do, including the indoor pool and game room. The place feels relaxed even when full, and the service was always friendly. Our family of two adults and kids aged 9 and 6 stayed for the first two weeks of January. The cabins are spacious, with comfortable mattresses, a full kitchen, microwave, and fridge. Breakfast was very complete and tasty. The restaurant serves affordable, delicious lunch and dinner, especially the smoothies, and there’s a bar in the afternoons. You can have food and drinks delivered to your cabin or eat there. We especially loved the breakfasts, smoothies, and fire pits. The location is good, though having a car is useful for the beach: the nearest one is very rocky and hard for children, while a calm beach is only a few blocks away. We’ll definitely return.

We had a great time and would definitely return, despite a few small problems in our room. It was a two-story unit, a bit worn, and the downstairs windows didn’t lock properly, which didn’t feel very secure. Nothing happened, but it seemed worth mentioning. Upstairs, only one outlet worked and the fan was broken. The receptionist was very kind and found us another one. The sheets and towels were clean, though there were lots of cobwebs in the cabin. The setting is beautiful, the surroundings spectacular, and the pools were divine. The outdoor one was a perfect temperature, not too hot, and the indoor heated pool was pleasantly warm. There were lots of games for children, the gym was well equipped and well maintained, and the restaurant was delicious. We only stayed one day.
