The room was old, but the AC and wifi were excellent, and there was a small fridge that worked well. The location was very good, right in the middle of everything, and the staff were polite. There's also a microwave in the lobby. I do recommend the hotel, though the bed's wooden frame at the bottom hurt my feet about a dozen times. The sink has separate hot and cold faucets, so there's no way to get warm water, and only two usable wall plugs. One of them was totally exposed to shower water.

I booked two nights and arrived on a Friday. At first, the receptionist was friendly during check-in. My boyfriend arrived half an hour later, and then I was told my card had been declined, though that had never happened to me with booking before. I offered to pay cash. The receptionist asked my boyfriend for identification, and when he showed his ID, the mood suddenly changed. He demanded a passport. My boyfriend doesn't speak Spanish and tried to explain that this was his ID, not a passport. He needed a few minutes to get the passport out of his big luggage, but every time I tried to translate that, the receptionist yelled at us aggressively. We couldn't communicate with him anymore. He shouted that we should leave the key and threw us out, leaving us without a place to stay that night. Luckily, we found a nice hotel nearby. After traveling and working in Uruguay for some time, I'd never been treated this way as a guest.
