Mercure Bukhara Old Town Hotel

The staff at Mercure Bukhara Old Town made our stay memorable, and I’ll recommend the hotel to friends, family, and anyone visiting Bukhara. Umida deserves a special thank you: she arranged transportation, helped us book road train tickets, and made sure our travel plans were organized. Her kindness, professionalism, and dedication made a real difference. Bravo, Umida! Your service shows the very best of hospitality, and you’re a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. The location made it easy to walk to major historical and cultural sights, and being close to the old town let us enjoy Bukhara’s beauty and charm. The design reflects the region’s culture and history while offering modern comfort. The atmosphere was elegant, peaceful, and welcoming. Our room was spacious, fresh, spotless, and very comfortable. Housekeeping kept it clean every day. The front desk team was professional, friendly, and eager to help. The pool was beautiful, clean, and a relaxing place to unwind after exploring the city. We also loved the restaurant. The view was amazing, the food was excellent, and the staff gave us out-of-this-world service. Every meal was enjoyable, with remarkable attention to detail. Mercure Bukhara Old Town has beautiful design, immaculate rooms, a great location, excellent dining, and outstanding service. We look forward to returning.

We liked our stay at Mercure, though there are a few things to know. The front desk helped with reservations and cabs, and they fixed the wonky AC. Breakfast was decent, and they really try to accommodate your needs. The center is a 10-15 minute walk away, an easy walk that we enjoyed, and cabs are readily available if you prefer. Ask for a newly refurbished room. We were first given a fully carpeted room that smelled musty, then shown a much nicer one with area rugs and a walk-in shower. They quoted us $100 extra, even though our friend had the same room at the lower price. We enjoyed our stay, but avoid the fully carpeted rooms.

The pool and spa were a great addition, and the kids loved them. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a perfect location and good rooms. The staff were very caring and helpful. We’ll definitely recommend it to friends and colleagues. P.S. Great selection of desserts at breakfast 💪

I live in hotels as a traveller influencer, and I won’t return to Mercure Bukhara Old Town. If you value quiet, clean air, and comfort, this stay felt like torture. Be cautious about the claims made. The place is expensive compared with local hotels and has no location advantage over the others in the old town. Hotels and buildings are packed close together, so outside noise carries day and night: loud music, groups gathering, and car horns. The rooms are profoundly noisy too. You can hear neighbors talking softly, their TV, and everything from the floor above. There’s absolutely no sound insulation, and the noise is constant. The hotel seems to be for smokers, including people who make the air disgusting. The restaurant sells cigars, hookah, and cigarettes, and the whole hotel smells like one giant ashtray. Tobacco stink drifts into the rooms every day. Smokers sit in every doorway polluting the air, and the hotel does nothing about it. The rooms have lots of maintenance problems and deficiencies. The shower wouldn’t drain when I arrived, and they offered to move me to a room without a shower. The AC won’t shut off, the curtains don’t block the light, and the beds are hard as rocks. There are only 220V outlets.
