Sezam

I’m leaving Sezam feeling ill both mentally and physically. We spent three days in a cold room, dealing with the host’s bad attitude. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’m wondering what Agoda can do to stop more customers having this kind of experience. The room never warmed up, so I wore a thick jacket and didn’t want to get out of bed on cold mornings. The bed was old, and there was no sheet for the blanket. I suspect the blanket hadn’t been washed for a long time. The toilet was separate from the bedroom, so we didn’t have the freedom we’re used to at other hotels. The shower and toilet were on the same level, so the floor got wet after a shower, and the hot water kept fluctuating, making it hard to wash. The toilet paper had red, blue, and green confetti inside it. It felt disgusting to use for cleaning, so we bought our own, but when I woke up, someone we didn’t know had used it all. The host didn’t speak English, and communicating through a translation app didn’t work well. For example, breakfast was so-so, so we told her not to make it on the second morning, but she made it anyway. This was my longest stay in Uzbekistan, and I’m really sad it was so unpleasant. And why was my toothbrush put on the floor? I don’t know whether the host or another guest moved it, but I didn’t realize we had to share the toilet. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have left my things outside. I rarely get angry about a stay, but aside from the price, I can’t find a single good thing about this hotel, or guesthouse, as I’d call it. We asked if we could leave our luggage there at 5 pm because our train was at 6 pm. She said yes, and I clearly showed her 5 pm in Google Translate. But in the morning she woke us up and told us to leave the room because she thought we meant 5 am. The door lock also didn’t work properly, so we couldn’t lock our room, and she came in without permission. Where was our personal space? She ruined our mornings. When we left our luggage at her place, she also threw away some of our belongings, including water, chocolate, tissues, and other things we haven’t discovered are missing yet. They weren’t worth much, but they were still our things.

A lovely, clean and comfortable place at an affordable price, with breakfast included. The host was friendly, and it’s close to most of the sights. Highly recommend.

Really good value for the price and services. The owner was very friendly, the house was clean, the location was very, very good, and breakfast was nice.

The owner is friendly, and the boys are bright and adorable. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the bathrooms are a bit spotless, though overall we had a good stay. The location is excellent and central, so it’s easy to get around on foot.
