The staff were very hospitable, which made our time in Bukhara even more memorable. During Ramadan they kindly offered us free suhoor and moved breakfast a few hours earlier. The Sultan Hotel Bukhara is well placed, with almost all Bukhara's attractions within walking distance, and the prices are affordable. We had a wonderful stay.

We could have happily stayed much longer if our tour hadn't taken us on. The location is hard to beat, with plenty to see and do just a few minutes away, and we'd gladly come back. It's a lovely budget boutique hotel in the centre of Bukhara's old city. The rooms are large and clean but simple, while the public spaces are quite grand, fitting the name 'Sultan'. We got a warm welcome from charming staff who made the stay feel friendly. Breakfast was simple but great, and we adored the halva. The shop next door sells it.

I urgently needed to download an app, but the internet wasn't working well in that area, so I asked a lady to connect me to the wifi. She barely looked up from her phone and didn't approach me when I came in. When I asked for help, she said, “who you are?” I told her I was a human, and then she said she wouldn't connect the wifi for strangers :) One lady can spoil a whole business. She should never be allowed to work in hospitality.
