We used this welcoming, beautiful place in Margilan as a base for exploring the Ferghana Valley. It’s set in a spacious Soviet era building with a big garden and plenty of comfortable spots to sit and unwind. The family who run it are ikat weavers. Highly recommended.

There’s a lovely courtyard here, and the property has plenty of space, including really large rooms. It’s a little away from the main shops and streets, but getting a Yandex is easy and the place is easy to find. We enjoyed our stay.

The owner gave us great suggestions for the region and places to visit. Ikat House feels like a little oasis in Margilon, with a family run, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home straight away. I’d gladly recommend it.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and had lots of choice. My bedroom was clean and very spacious, with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed the beautiful building and garden at Ikat house.

Ikat House is filled with beautiful decor and textiles, and the books at reception are worth a read. It’s surrounded by local people, so you feel part of the town, and it makes a good base for a Fergana experience. The center of Margilan is about a 20 minute walk away. It’s quiet and comfortable, a nice choice if you want a pleasant stay. Guests interested in arts and crafts might enjoy chatting and swapping information. In peak summer the reception room can get hot, so the outside benches are more comfortable. Wifi also works in the courtyard.
