Damir Hotel By Aiko

My boyfriend and I booked one night, then liked the comfortable room and friendly feel so much that we booked another the next morning. We came by bicycle and the staff stored our bikes very safely. They couldn’t do enough to help us. I think it may have been a hostel before, which could explain the negative reviews, but it’s changed a lot. We’d recommend it and stay again.

It’s Damir Hotel now, not Nukus Hotel, and it looks completely different from the old photos. The location is great, very close to the museum and close enough to walk to the bazaar and river. It’s comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The staff were very kind, especially Dina. The only things we could pick on were the weak shower pressure and the lack of a fridge in the room, and we were really trying to find something. I totally recommend Damir Hotel.

For anyone looking at the map, this isn’t Nukus Hotel anymore, or whatever its previous name was. It’s now Hotel Damir, a very nice upscale hotel. I’m sure they’ll sort out a new Google Maps page soon. In the meantime, I definitely recommend staying here.

The place was horrible, dirty, and smelly. It was very hot, with no air conditioning and no hot water. The receptionist and staff were unfriendly and dodgy. Breakfast didn’t exist, and after seeing the kitchen I wouldn’t have eaten there anyway. One of my credit cards disappeared while I was there. Don’t go. I hope it closes down.
