Danexan Apa Hostel

The beds were comfortable, the rooms very clean, and even the shared bathroom was spotless. We stayed in the large dorm, where there are charging plugs everywhere. The staff were always smiling and friendly. Sevinch handled our registration, took us on a city tour, helped us get things at the baca r, and let us try some typical food. We had a really good experience with her.

The staff were the best guides we could have asked for, mostly local university students who speak good English and are keen to help. Their tour packages are thoughtfully planned and very affordable, and they’ll help arrange a trip even if you don’t book one of those packages. The hostel itself is top class, with a hot bath and even a massage chair. The health faucet was a first for me anywhere on my Uzbekistan trip, and it was life changing. Excellent place to stay in Nukus, possibly the best hostel in the country. 10/10, it’ll breathe new life into your trip. Just go without a second thought.

What made our stay was the kind, attentive and hospitable staff, especially Abdulla, who went above and beyond. He arranged our trip to the Aral sea at a very reasonable price, always replied quickly to our messages, and sorted out an issue with our card payment. Thank you, Abdulla and team. The female dorm was clean, with comfortable beds, and close to the communal bathroom with hot water. Breakfast was delicious, and they brought us hot water for tea when we asked. We had a lovely, comfortable stay at Hostel Danexan. Definitely recommend this hostel in Nukus!

The highlight of our Uzbekistan trip was the tour we booked through the guesthouse to the disappearing Aral Sea and the Ship Cemetery. The place itself was cozy, clean and well run, with good Wi-Fi, a hot shower and delicious breakfast. They even packed breakfast for our early tour. The staff were so kind and helpful, real examples of Uzbek hospitality. Abdulla, the owner, was honestly the nicest, sweetest person in the whole country and did everything he could to make us comfortable. He told us about a local festival we sadly missed and offered to help arrange a taxi there. I highly recommend staying here in Nukus and meeting Abdulla. You’ll feel like part of the family.
