I’d made a confirmed reservation through one of the major booking sites some months before my arrival in Nukus. Two days before the stay, the hotel messaged me: “Good morning, can you cancel the reservation please because we have a group on that day, thanks in advance.” Make your own decision about whether to trust a business that treats customers this way.

We walked in without a reservation and talked them down from $60 to $30 a night, the best price in town. The hotel is well located in Nukus, and the staff helped us arrange a cheap shared taxi to Khiva for 40k som per head. Rooms were clean, showers had good hot water, and the A/C worked well. Breakfast was good, not amazing. Many staff members spoke good English. We’d stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this modest hotel room, it had all the things you’d want and nothing seemed to be missing. There wasn’t any coffee in the room, though. And those colored lights in the photo are my light bulbs!

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but asked them to help hire a private taxi to Khivá. The owner, Dilfuza, spoke and wrote fluent English, charged a fairer price than the hotel where I was staying, and messaged me on WhatsApp to check I’d arrived safely in Khivá. A very good experience.
