B&B Bahodir

The good parts were the management, adequate service, and a very tasty, healthy breakfast with a mix of local and continental food. The location was convenient and close to Registan Point, in a neat, clean environment. My experience was mixed, though. The room was big but not cozy, the furniture was old, and the bathroom wasn’t serviced every day. The door lock and flush also gave us a little trouble.

We stayed a few nights in two different rooms, splitting the stay around a trip out of Samarkand. The hotel has a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and tea, coffee, and a few biscuits available throughout the day. Breakfast was delicious. The first room had a lovely tiled bathroom, air conditioning, and firm beds. The beds in the other room were a bit too cushioned for us, there was no air conditioning, and the shower was a cheap plastic box. It was still perfectly good, but the rooms seem to vary quite a bit.

What made the stay memorable was the welcoming staff and the breakfast, served with so much care. B&B Bahodir sits right in Samarkand’s busy tourist area, just a 5,6 minute walk from the Registan and also fairly close to the train station. The rooms and facilities felt a little dated, and our shower was only a trickle. I’d still recommend it for the location, friendly service, and lovely breakfast. If your shower isn’t working, just ask to switch rooms.

The rooms are basic, but that seems fair for the hotel’s low price. There’s a lovely garden to relax in during the hottest part of the day, with tea to enjoy. The location is really handy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A fantastic spot if you’re okay with having a little less luxury in your room.
