Dolya was incredibly thorough, and she and Zhana made sure my friend and I were comfortable throughout. They even added a couple of extra stretches for me. We’d found the spa on Google and decided on the spur of the moment to try its hammam. Our package covered the hammam, jacuzzi and sauna, then a full body wash and exfoliation, massage and facial. It was great value, and I’d highly recommend it for unwinding in Samarkand.

Khabib has the strongest hands, and to me he’s the best spa master in the world. His massage absolutely floored me, and I still can’t stop thinking about him. If you visit Samarkand, you need to touch him and let him touch you. Very nice.

If you like saunas, this place is great. Entry is 150000, and you can use the general hall without booking. Men and women have separate areas. A birch leaf treatment in the Russian style costs 70000. There are cold pools and dunking barrels, plus excellent tea. The guys running it are good. If you don’t speak Russian, bring Google Translate. What more does a man need?

I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the massage after what happened, and the massage itself wasn’t very good anyway. I went in today, put my things in a locker after getting undressed, then showered and went to the massage room. They told me to leave my towel and locker key on a table. While I was on the massage table, another staff member came in and the masseur signaled to him. He quietly took my key from the table. I noticed and shouted for him to put it back, which he did. I was lucky to catch it. If you go there, keep your valuables with you and put them under the massage table. Warning: staff tried to rob me!
