Maryam Hotel

We got a good deal on Agoda, and I’d say it was very good value. The hotel isn’t far from the city proper: taxis cost about 1.5-2UsD depending on the time, and there’s a grocery store and restaurants nearby. We stayed four nights in a room with two single beds. It was much more acceptable than the Agoda advert made it look. It had its own A/C, hot and cold shower, standard toilet amenities, hairdryer, mini fridge and TV. The beds weren’t mentioned, but we had issues with the bathroom doorknob and a showerhose leak from day one. We were out all day and didn’t have time to deal with it, and didn’t want to be bothered at night. I hope they fixed those things. The receptionist, Ibrahim, was really helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and he easily helped us extend by one night. He speaks English very well, so ask him if you need anything. Many locals we met didn’t speak English well, so have Google Translate ready.

The best hotel I stayed at during two months in Central Asia. The beds are comfy, the AC works well, and even the bathroom has quite a lot of space. The shower pressure is good for Central Asia. The staff are really helpful and always happy to chat. Thank you!

The hotel was new and modern, with a convenient location. We could walk to almost all the sights, and the orthopedic mattresses made the beds very comfortable. The price matches the quality, and I’d give the place a full rating. We were glad to have booked room 302 for nights two and three. We loved everything about it. For the first night we were in room 102, which I really wouldn’t recommend: it was very small and terribly noisy. Breakfast was a little weak. The pancakes were delicious, but there was nothing to eat with them, like sour cream or jam. Some local oriental sweets would have been nice, though that’s just my personal preference.
