A lovely place, with the best host I've ever experienced.
The O'zbegim Teahouse is just a 150-200-meter walk away, and the home-style national food there was excellent. It's a lovely spot for lunch or dinner, and well worth walking over to. The guesthouse itself is small, cozy, clean, and comfortable, with a peaceful atmosphere.
Alexey was the heart of our stay at Frodo Guest House. He welcomed us warmly, looked after us throughout, and seemed to anticipate what we might need. He's an interesting, kind person who clearly loves his home and cares about each guest. This is his family home, and you can see the care in all the details. We came to Tashkent with a baby and a small dog, and after looking through lots of apartments without finding the right fit, I found Frodo Guest House online the day before we left. The patio and dog-friendly setup caught my eye, and when we called, they happened to have space for our dates. We loved the house as soon as we arrived. There are persimmon and pomegranate trees, a neat lawn, cozy swings, and a barbecue. After the bustle of Moscow, the quiet was such a treat. We could leave the stroller in the yard so the baby could nap under the trees, and our puppy had room to run around, which was a joy after living in a Moscow apartment. There's also a very intelligent cat in the house who stays away when the dog is outside. The house is beautiful, clean, and cozy, with a comfortable bed. We will definitely come back. A special thank you to Alexey for the breathtaking excursion to the mountains and the lake. Thank you for everything, and may God bless you and your home.
The quiet private-area location made it easy to sleep, yet the metro and public transport were within walking distance. We also enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard in the evening. We stayed here in October 2023, and arrived by car after crossing the border at night. We called and they answered, then checked us in right away. Everything was clean and cozy, and the owner was always ready to help with questions. It felt more like staying with relatives than at a hotel. We loved it all.
We've stayed here a few times and plan to come back. It's such a warm, homey place, and being able to cool off in the courtyard pool was lovely.
