The Waves at Cane Bay

The patio sits right over the ocean, and the sunsets from there were gorgeous. It was also such a peaceful place to have morning coffee, with the waves to listen to at night. Our bed was very comfortable, and the ceiling fan above it was nice. The kitchenette had everything arranged well. Ama Restaurant downstairs had lovely ocean and sunset views, and the food was delicious and beautifully served. The Landing Restaurant was no more than a ten-minute walk, and their lobster was great. The beach is about five minutes away, and The Waves provides chairs and an ice chest. We didn't need an umbrella because there are lots of trees along the beach. The chairs don't recline, which was my one complaint, and I would've liked a toaster. Still, we'll be back. It's quiet and private, and that close to the ocean with this view is hard to find.

Cane Bay Beach is an easy five-minute walk away, and the hotel provides chairs, umbrellas, towels, and a tote bag. There are two dinner spots on site, The Sunset Grill and Ama, and the service was excellent. When I asked for a small fry pan to make over-easy eggs in my room, they even sent someone to look for one. Every room is beautifully furnished and has a balcony facing the water. You can hear the gentle waves crashing throughout the day.

The pictures and videos really don't show how incredible the view is. We had the premium king, room 10, with a huge view of the ocean and mountainside. The room itself was roomy, with a full kitchen and sit-down bar, and we loved hanging out on the spacious balcony in the morning and at sunset. You can see hundreds of stars at night. There's also a natural tide pool for swimming, basically a saltwater pool with waves coming in. Bring water shoes, since the bottom is natural rock. If you're considering a booking, just do it!

Every room has a balcony looking over the water, with the waves breaking just below. The views are tremendous, and we loved this place. You can catch the sunset from your deck or head next door for a drink at the sunset bar.
