The beach and the views were beautiful, and the woman at check-in was helpful with questions and recommendations. Those were the bright spots in an otherwise miserable stay at Crystal Cove. Our apartment needed repairs and updates. We were told the work would happen after checkout, but nobody warned us that the power went out every night around 8 pm. The first outage seemed brief, but when we returned from the bar next door, our unit and every other one on the property were still dark. We walked the beach to cool off and saw that other properties had generators, while Crystal Cove did not. The property manager said the island was on rotation, this happened sometimes, and power should return in about two hours. It did, roughly two hours later. The next two nights it was out for about two hours, then three. The fourth night, it lasted four hours. On the fifth night, we came back to a dark, warm unit and took our usual walk to wait it out. The power never returned. When we checked out at 11 am Monday, the whole property was still without power. People we passed warned us it had been out since 8 pm the night before, and we wished the office had told us that when we arrived. We asked about compensation for losing power every night. The woman at the office said she couldn’t help, but gave us property manager Ms. Adele Georges’s name and number, saying she was just leaving the lot. A week later, our calls to Ms. Georges still hadn’t been returned. Two stars for the lovely beach and views.
We stayed in a recently renovated condo made by joining two units, and the host was very helpful. There were restaurants, a bar, and a coffee shop close by. Having a taxi stand in the same spot made it easy to get a ride quickly.
The house we booked had recently been updated and felt like home, with a beach right there. We especially liked its larger size and the better parking in building D. Alley parking behind the building is limited and fills quickly, but a space puts you close to the door. The beach access from building D is very close. While we were sitting in the chairs, local tenants and the worker combing the beach asked us several times where we were staying, even though we were minding our own business. Red Hook is nearby for fresh food markets, restaurants, and things to do, and Koki Beach and Coral World aren’t far either. We picked this location because we’d stayed at the Sapphire Beach condos before and wanted something different. We liked these condos enough to skip our other usual island options and come back to Crystal Cove next year.
The beach was neat and clean, and the resort provided plenty of free chairs, towels, and even beach toys for kids. Our room was well maintained and well furnished for a vacation, and there’s a restaurant on site. It’s a great spot for snorkeling and para gliding. It was quiet, though crowded over the weekend. One thing that bothered me was the glass wall at the front with no curtain, so outside light came in a lot. We still enjoyed our stay 🤗
Nice, calm water for swimming and snorkeling at this lovely beach. It's the virgin islands.
