Island View Guesthouse

The hosts and waitstaff were friendly, helpful, and encouraging, and we’d happily book here again. We stayed five days and had a lovely time. The complimentary breakfast was great each morning, especially the coffee bar and bread. And that stunning view kept us energized and excited to explore the island.

The view is terrific, and the meals from Chef Marshal and the team were great. We had the complimentary breakfast each morning and enjoyed a delicious dinner one evening. The guesthouse is outside the main town, so you'll need a taxi or a rental car. Libby quickly sorted out our hot water problem. Housekeeping was the bigger issue: we were told it would come every other day, but all we got was more towels and toilet paper left on the sink, bathroom trash taken out, kitchen trash left behind, and the bed untouched. We told Chef Marshall, who sent the housekeepers back to fix it. We expected basic service like emptying the trash, making the bed, and restocking supplies, without expecting fresh linens. After we raised the problem, management's response said housekeeping was provided every other day, but that missed the point. Their reply felt like the same dismissive attitude we got from housekeeping. I'm afraid they didn't learn from the feedback, and there seem to be management problems. Hopefully they'll get better at accepting honest feedback. Apart from that housekeeping snafu, it was a good stay, and we'd recommend it to St. Thomas travelers. We wish Chef Marshal and Libby the best.

Breakfast was simple, made to order, and something I really enjoyed. The honor bar is a cool alternative to putting a minibar in every room. It's secluded and very peaceful, with next-level hospitality. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the experience is worth it. 10/10, I'd definitely return.

The staff were amazing, on par with a Viking cruise crew, and we had excellent dinner. That cheesecake donut with ice cream is in my top two desserts of a lifetime. We stayed here the night before taking the ferry to Tortolla for an eight-day sailing trip. The view, amenities, and pool were wonderful. It was truly a five-star experience for us.
