Azerai Ke Ga Bay

The place has a way of making you relax as soon as you settle into the roomy lobby with a welcome drink. We loved the different pools, from the one by the beach with its ocean view to the ones tucked among the palms. The whole resort feels spacious, a welcome change from busy Ho Chi Minh City, only about a three-hour drive away. Staff were kind, attentive, and always smiling, and we felt well looked after the whole time. Care shows throughout, from the rooms and dining spaces to the gardens and pools, along with little touches that made us feel welcome. We also really enjoyed the food, though for our five nights we mostly stuck to Vietnamese dishes. We loved every minute, and left a little teary, hoping we can return someday.

It’s very isolated, but that suited us perfectly for a relaxing five-night stay. The staff were attentive and kind, and by the second day they already knew our preferences and did what they could to accommodate us. We had excellent spa service and one of the best massages of our trip. The breakfast was excellent, served à la carte or buffet depending on occupancy. Dinner was good, though the Vietnamese dishes felt a bit adapted for foreign tastes to me. The spacious resort has comfortable bedding, a large bathroom, and several quiet pools. Just be ready for other guests doing photo shoots at the infinity pool toward the end of the day.

The room and grounds were beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed, with the architecture and landscaping standing out. But the service didn’t live up to the setting. There were so many flies in the restaurant that eating felt uncomfortable. At breakfast, our table wasn’t set with cutlery until we asked. Housekeeping then knocked loudly at 8:30 in the morning while we were still asleep, which felt intrusive and avoidable. The property itself is excellent, but the day-to-day attention to guests needs significant improvement.

We came hoping to properly unwind after a lot of travel, but the constant content creators, Instagrammers, and TikTokers got in the way. For the second night running, people were between us and what had been a beautiful sunset. I counted 16 people taking poolside pictures, some with crews. I suspect some of the glowing reviews may come from them. When it feels like you’ve crashed somebody else’s photo shoot and your own moments don’t matter, be prepared for that. The pools are beautiful, the beach is mostly lovely, the rooms are good, and the tasteful decor is probably why people use it as a cheap location shoot. The staff are wonderful, the GM is charming, and breakfast is great. There are a few bikes, with varying quality, and some places in the local strip, but it isn’t a nice walk. We’ve explored a bit, though the lighthouse trip was a waste of time, it was windy and visitors aren’t allowed in. There’s a pool table too, but it leans left and could be fixed quickly if someone paid attention. This isn’t a bad review, just an honest one.
