BangBang Motel

We were welcomed by the staff, and the location was great. The room was nice and clean.

The location is handy for walking to the busier parts of town, and there's a supermarket next door. The AC gets incredibly cold, and the shower water gets very hot, though the water pressure is weak. The room smelled really bad and was in a state of decline. Laundry cost twice what it does on the street. At reception, two of the three staff stayed glued to their phones, and the only woman who helped us had to pull herself away. The man only paid attention when we tried to use stairs he didn't want us using.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the main woman working there was a delight. I paid 200K dong a night, less than $10, for a clean enough, comfortable room with AC and hot water. It's a non-touristy part of town, with restaurants and shops all around. Ho Xang Toi, the small lake, is a 10-minute walk; Luu Huu Phuoc park takes 15 minutes, and Can Tho market and pier are 20. Laundry is done onsite, and I got mine back the same day for 15K dong/kilo. A fine place to stay for a few days.

The owner is cheerful and very friendly. The guesthouse itself is clean, airy, and comfortable.
