The area seems popular with locals who get together in the evenings, so it can be somewhat noisy at night if you’re sensitive to sound. Even so, I found the location excellent, and the place was clean and comfortable. The host auntie and I used a translation app to communicate. She was kind and helpful, offered me budget friendly tour options to consider without pushing them, and pointed me toward good places to deal with some unexpected personal challenges I was navigating. When I checked out, she surprised me with a little takeaway bag of prepared fresh local fruit and snacks for my commute. I appreciated her generous hospitality.

Kieu was such a lovely, perfect host. This is personally one of the nicest places I’ve stayed during my four years of travelling, and I’ll definitely come back ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Locals gather to chat and drink by the small provision store at the front of the alley where the homestay is, so it can get a little loud sometimes. It quiets down after a certain time, and I suppose that’s part of the local experience. The room was comfortable enough, with a comfy bed, smart TV, and fridge. The bathroom was small, but I’m used to that. The adorable grandma who runs the place served snacks and gave me a quick introduction to places to eat, visit, and tour in Can Tho, all using Google Translate.

She was a fantastic host, really friendly and helpful. She even brought us some local food, which we loved. She doesn’t speak much English, but she’s great with Google Translate, so it was easy to communicate.

Kieu was unbelievably kind and helpful the whole time I was there. She let me rent her bicycle for five days and helped me book a bus ticket to Ho Chi Minh City, and she was always quick to respond. This has been my favorite Homestay in Vietnam so far. If you get the chance, choose Buddha Homestay!
