Staying by the riverside made this homestay really relaxing, and everything was clean. The owner and his nephew Tao were incredibly kind and generous. They sat and chatted with us, asked about our country, and told us stories about Vietnam. We had so much fun. They served us a delicious, very large dinner, then showed us how to make spring rolls, which we prepared ourselves. It was the most amazing place we stayed in Vietnam. We loved it, and you should definitely stay here.

The cottages were clean and had their own bathrooms, with a lovely sitting area by the river behind them. We took a boat from the homestay to a really big, impressive floating market. The owners were friendly, shared fresh fruit, and played a few fun rounds of bingo with us. During our two days in the Mekong Delta, we spent a night at Hung's Homestay, where we had a delicious dinner with fish and made our own spring rolls. It was a really lovely, authentic homestay and a great experience.

The rooms are spacious, and the beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is simple but good, especially the jam. The host and family are so friendly, and Tảo has loads of energy. We got everyone staying there together for a game. On our first night we made bánh xèo, which was delicious. I also liked that cold beer was available to buy from the fridge. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Can Tho.

The people are what make this place stand out. Our friends here go out of their way to make sure you have a great time in Can Tho and help arrange tours and onward travel. Dinner followed by 'Happy Water' (rice wine), with Mr Tau leading the toasts, brings guests together in a relaxed, friendly way. Mr Hung, Mr Tau, and the team have created a truly commendable place. As a reasonably well-travelled architect, I have to say the design and attention to detail couldn’t be better. Every once in a while you find the perfect base for exploring a region. Very highly recommended.

Hung's homestay is a great place to take a break after the busy pace of a big city like Ho Chi Minh City. Tao welcomed us warmly and was a wonderful guide on our Mekong tour. We went by boat early to the floating market, where we had delicious, very fresh food. He explained a lot about local life, stopped at a market garden, and showed us how farmers work. We also made rice noodles. The "happy water" was excellent, as was the dinner we were allowed to cook ourselves.
