I found bed bugs and mould here. The manager called the bugs dust and, in my view, lied about what happened. Don't engage with dishonest cowards. In response to the hostel's claims: I entered the so-called upgraded room for about a minute, until bed bugs were found in front of your staff. I didn't use its amenities. That room was in the building across the road, so both buildings had bed bugs. More lies, with no accountability. When your staff supervisor first realised there were bed bugs, he offered to waive the hotel fee, on the phone with the owner, who I describe as a cowardly liar. Saying I left without settling a bill is a complete lie. If that's true, show evidence that the manager asked me to pay before I left. No one tried to collect payment, and the manager knew what a terrible situation I was in, with major disruption and expenses out of pocket because of the infestation. More lies. If there were no bugs, why offer me another room next door, then yet another across the road? More lies. I have photos of mould throughout the wet areas. More lies. I never demanded a free stay or full compensation. I clearly explained to your manager that a free stay wouldn't fix a bed bug infestation. I asked, I did not demand, whether the owner would take responsibility and cover the emergency laundry costs for cleaning and decontaminating all my belongings, including my shoes. More lies from Mr Hero Hostel. Liar, liar. Draco Pham... I don't need to trade insults. I have dated, geotagged photos and video of live bed bugs, bite marks, and mould from the rooms, and I reported it directly to management at the time. I have a background in building engineering and hotel investment in Southeast Asia. I'm familiar with hygiene, mould treatment, construction, and pest control standards. Painting over mould and sealing it with silicone, as was done here, doesn't remove it. It grows back. The hotel offered me a free stay after I raised these issues and before inspecting the other room across the road. Real feedback isn't slander. It helps maintain standards and protect other travelers. Photos and videos are available on request. Talk is cheap, and facts speak louder than your strange, random comments. Asia may be big, but the travel community is small and well connected. The truth always surfaces. If you really believe this is slander, you're welcome to have the hotel contact me formally. I keep records, evidence, and communication logs, and I'm confident in my position and my team. I'm also prepared to share everything with the relevant authorities or legal counsel if needed. Until then, screenshots, videos, and timestamps beat random online accusations every time. If you or the hotel believe my statements are false, you or your legal team can contact my legal representative to discuss it formally. I prefer to handle issues like this professionally and on the record. Draco, you're very foolish.

On arrival, the bed sheets and towels looked clean. The AC worked well and seemed maintained, the room was spacious, and there were large common areas with billiard tables and a cafe. The location is handy, in a busy area with food and shops. Staff spoke some English and were friendly at first. But the hygiene problems were serious. I found several bed bugs in the bed and pillow that night, including visible eggs and early-stage larvae. I removed all my belongings straight away and told the staff. They offered the room next door, but I explained that an infestation can spread through walls and ceilings, so moving there wouldn't solve it. I asked for a plastic bag for my clothes. At the room across the road, which is under the same hotel brand, staff didn't understand that my shoes could be contaminated and kept failing to provide a bag for them until I insisted. I found another bed bug as soon as I entered the new room. I showed it to a staff member, who killed it and then denied it was a bed bug, despite my photos and clear evidence. First he acted as if he understood, then switched to saying “no problem.” When I asked the hotel to at least cover laundry for the clothes and shoes exposed to the infestation, he smirked and refused. Completely arrogant and unprofessional. Try that with me in the gym and see how that goes. Very disrespectful. The bathroom floor mat was dirty with hair and dirt at check-in. There was a strong mould and paint smell, like mould had been painted over rather than properly removed. The floors hadn't been cleaned thoroughly; I found small animal droppings on the bed and on the wall by the bathroom, heavy black mould in the bathroom silicone and tile joints, wet bathroom cups that clearly hadn't been washed and dried properly, dirty slippers, and a large hair under the blanket. The bidet hose was mounted on the wrong side, and its bracket was coming off the wall. At 300k VND a night, this standard of cleaning and inspection is unacceptable. Decorative wall panels that hide mould, or silicone applied before mould is properly cleared, don't fix the problem. Mould grows back. The bathroom walls weren't painted with the right primer or paint, and the newly painted surfaces were peeling. Hire professionals instead of trying to save money by doing a poor job. Haven't you heard the saying, “the poor man pays twice?” A bunch of amateurs. The way the owner and management acted showed no respect or accountability. This cost me hours of hassle, laundry fees for all my clothes and shoes, time finding new clothes so I could wash what I was wearing, and a lot of stress trying to stop the infestation spreading. I first found the problem at 9:30 pm, and it took four hours to resolve. I would love to get my hands on the owner. Shame on the owner and management. On the surface, the hotel has decent amenities and a convenient location. But it has a serious bed bug infestation and mould and hygiene problems, and the owners' and staff's attitude was ignorant even after I tried to explain the issues. He shouldn't speak so confidently if he doesn't know what he's talking about. They need professional pest control, professional builders for mould remediation, proper staff training, and to take responsibility for guest safety and costs. Until then, avoid this hotel completely. I'm a building engineer by trade, with extensive experience running and investing in hotels and hostels across Southeast Asia. I know what proper hygiene, pest control, and maintenance should look like. If you're looking for a clean and safe hostel in Châu Đốc, avoid this place. Serious bed bug infestation. I also noticed that many reviews here seem suspicious or were written by people who reviewed only this place. Check the photos carefully before booking. My experience didn't match the high ratings at all.

The location worked well for breakfast and dinner, and there's even a spa next door. Staff were nice, and the family could play billiards there. I had a good stay, though an elevator would be helpful for older people.

As a Texan, I've been here for over two weeks and personally stayed in every room. There are absolutely no bed bugs, despite your false claim. Agent MPZ919 reviewer, your words are as cheap as your actions. Shame on you twice over. Aussies must be ashamed of your actions. You spread lies without proof, and that says everything about you. I heard you left without paying for your stay, and now you dare to slander others? Don't drag your fellow Australians down with your dishonest behavior. You're responsible for your own disgrace.

We needed to be close to the harbour for the Hangzhou boat to Phnom Penh, and this place is only a two-minute walk away. We stayed one night on the way from Saigon, travelling with our bags. The room was quiet but pretty lifeless, and the beds were rock hard, too hard for us, really. The shower is open plan, so it was tricky to manage. We were glad there was a massage place two doors down. Had to dodge the sleepy receptionist on the way out. It was cheap, so I can't complain too much.
