Be U Hotel

The location is good, and the staff were kind and friendly, but the hotel itself isn’t somewhere people should be staying. We booked a family room, and it had mold everywhere and smelled terrible. It was 11pm and we had three little ones, so after about five minutes we asked to move. Reception understood and helped us switch rooms, but that one had mold too. We stayed the night, then checked out first thing in the morning and found another hotel.

The staff were friendly and professional, and the room was comfortable and clean. It’s about a five-minute walk to Xuan Huong lake or the market. If you arrive early, there’s a chilly waiting room. There’s plenty of parking for cars.

The location is central, but the customer service needs a lot of work. When I called to book directly for one night, the hotel refused to accept the booking, which seems ridiculous for a place in a tourist city. I then booked through Agoda. Its listing said the room had a balcony or terrace, but once the booking was confirmed, the hotel messaged to say the room was in the basement. I cancelled and didn’t lose any money. Be careful, and triple-check the details before booking.

The receptionists were nice, but they couldn’t help us change rooms or fix anything. The room was dirty and moldy, and smelled like burnt plastic. Whenever we stayed inside, it gave me a bad headache. I was sick during the trip and just wanted to rest, but the place was under construction and still taking guests. We woke at 7AM to loud banging that continued until late afternoon. DON’T STAY HERE IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO.
