Cat Tuong Hotel

We chose this place for the view, which was okay, but the hotel is tucked in an alley and hard to find. Service was poor, especially at reception, and breakfast took a long time to prepare. The one bright spot was the girl who made breakfast. For the price, the facilities and service felt lacking, and the hotel charges for anything broken or missing. It was disappointing. We wouldn’t return or recommend it.

The dining area had a beautiful view, and I found the staff friendly, the room clean, and the bed comfortable. But the room didn’t block sound well. I could hear the elevator and people talking all night, and the curtains let in too much light.

Housekeeping was spotless, with clean, fluffy towels, and the room itself was very clean. I liked the panoramic windows, balcony, and top-floor dining room. It’s a quiet area, with restaurants within walking distance, and the room was nice for sleeping. The service was missing a lot of the details. During our three days, reception staff were barely around, and when they were there, they seemed busy on the phone and ignored people coming and going. Breakfast is a simple menu, but don’t count on getting what you order. The first morning we ordered two omelettes and got fried eggs with a little sliced cucumber and tomato. We skipped breakfast the next day. On the third day I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich shown on the menu, but got a fried egg between two slices of toast. No coffee was offered, even though there’s a giant “coffee & breakfast” sign on the building. The elevator also makes a loud noise that carries into the rooms. This place could be really good if they worked on service and food.

I was here with a school group, and the staff went out of their way to get to know us and make sure we were having a good stay. They were incredibly helpful and gave us the warmest, most personal service I’ve experienced. The breakfast was fantastic, too. It’s close to downtown but away from the busy noise. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.
