The owners or manager wouldn’t return our deposit after we refused to stay, so be careful about paying one. We called ahead to ask about the hostel’s condition, since it was advertised as a hotel, and were told it was all good. On arrival, though, we found an old place with inadequate facilities, an uneven floor, and little ants crawling on the bed. They came back even after the sheets were changed. The room was impossible for us to stay in. I hope this warns other travelers.

The location is brilliant, and the staff were super friendly. They greeted us whenever we came in and even gave us free tea. But the room was dirty enough that I often didn’t want to walk barefoot, and the bathroom was pretty mediocre. The photos on Agoda didn’t match what we found when we arrived, even though the price looked very reasonable. The bed was comfortable, and the small fan pointed right at it, so having no air conditioning wasn’t much of an issue for us. There wasn’t much daylight because the little window was almost blacked out. There’s no lift either, and the stairway is narrow and tight. The receptionist couldn’t speak much English.

Whenever I visit Da Lat, I book this hotel again. The prices and service are both very good, and there’s a lovely, enthusiastic receptionist. Perfect!

The view is beautiful, and the place is near the market. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic, and even got up in the middle of the night to open the door so I could check in.
