The property was unsanitary, the listing didn’t match what we found, and the way our complaint was handled was unprofessional. I’d advise others to avoid the stress of staying here. I’d booked a two-bedroom unit at Dalat Resident Center so my husband and I could host family. Before arrival, after reading several negative reviews, I tried to cancel, but the property refused under its non-refundable policy. The unit looked nothing like the online photos. The windows were all dirty, the cabinets greasy, the shower floor had visible green mold and vegetation, and black mold spores were on the window shades. A previous guest’s dental floss had been left behind, there was rotten milk in a cabinet, and the front door was damaged. The TV didn’t work, there was no air conditioning despite it being advertised, and the shower head was crusty and stained. We were exhausted from traveling, so I tried to sleep through it. My husband spoke to staff that night, and they offered a 50% refund for all five nights despite the problems. In the morning I packed up and asked to leave early, paying only for the one night we’d stayed. The manager refused and said we still had to pay at least half of the full five-night stay. When I said I’d dispute the charge with my bank, he then offered to settle for two nights. He also showed us a Booking.com fee of 2.3 million VND, about $87, and insisted we pay that too. I don’t think a customer should have to cover a business’s booking fees, particularly when basic cleanliness standards weren’t met. My husband even offered to split the fee just to move on, but the whole thing left a bad taste in our mouths.

Awful. The place was cold because all the window handles were broken, and my husband caught a bad cold, so we had to miss our flight. It was dirty, there were hot water problems, and the market smell was awful. Noise from cars, neighbors, and elevators came through because there was no soundproofing.

There’s a great location by the night market and lots of restaurants, but I can’t really rate the place. We went three times to ask about monthly or yearly apartments and nobody was at the front desk, which seemed strange for a fairly large building. Beyond the location, it’s still a question mark.

Our replacement room, 507, smelled and looked cleaner, thankfully, but it had a roach. It also surprised me that nobody seemed aware of the state of the first room, since everything looks newly renovated. After reading other reviews, I saw that they’d told someone room 507 wasn’t in their system and asked them to delete the review. That sounds untrue, since it was the room we were given afterward. Crazy. The first room my partner and I got was unit 1007, and it was awful. Dirty towels were left on the bathroom shelves, the sink leaked, the drawers had mildew, the body soap smelled spoiled, and so did the washroom. Water wouldn’t drain in either the sink or shower, and even the bedroom had mold. When we told an employee, she said, “that’s just how the soap smells here” and “thats how the drawers smell.” She went quiet after smelling the washroom ourselves.

That apartment was a handy base for exploring central Dalat, and we liked its cosy interior. Tam was welcoming at check-in and stayed reachable on WhatsApp whenever we had questions. We spent three nights there in December 2024. The price felt far too high for what we got. There was no housekeeping during our stay, and the bathroom walls had mould. We could hear noise from the main road morning and night, possibly because a festival was happening while we were there. In winter, be aware the hot water only lasts 5-10 minutes, which is a bit tight for two people, and there are no room heaters.
