Dalat Train Village

The staff were friendly and really helpful, and we had an amazing stay. We’d happily come back here next time we’re in Dalat.

The old French villas are being renovated, so there’s quite a bit going on during the day, but it stays surprisingly quiet. This is a beautiful hotel complex with historic charm and excellent service. We’re looking forward to seeing how it looks when we return.

There’s a big garden with room to eat and drink together, and you can have your own BBQ or ask the hotel to help with it. The place has an authentic villa style with modern renovations and a history connected to the train station. It’s about five minutes from the central lake and town center. We had a wonderful time here in Dalat and I’ll definitely return to Dalat Train Village. We got a really good deal since they’d only just opened and were still working on some parts of the place.

I paid quite a bit and found the place far below expectations. The room greeted us with eight mosquitoes and a cockroach. The table lamp didn’t work, the wardrobe was very mouldy and smelled bad, the living room also smelled of mould, and there was dirt under the bed. It made me wonder whether management takes upkeep seriously. We complained the next morning and asked for cleaning. When we returned, it had only been cleaned superficially. The bathroom and area under the bed were still dirty, including the dead mosquitoes I’d killed the night before. Breakfast was acceptable and the location is good, but the place feels very run down, like people no longer care for it. Unless things improve drastically, I wouldn’t stay here.
