Booking confirmed the room, but the owners then asked me for an extra prepayment off the books. I said it looked suspicious, like a scam, and they replied that they weren't expecting me and I could find another hotel. I consider the owners swindlers and crooks, and wouldn't recommend dealing with this place. It could ruin a trip to the beautiful city of Da Lat.

It's cheap, but not especially cheerful. The location is very central and the staff are friendly, though you get what you pay for, and the rooms look nothing like the pictures. We had to change rooms because the first smelled strongly of damp and mould from a big roof leak. The second was better, but still not very clean, with a mouldy bathroom blind. The pillows were hard and lumpy, the bathroom flooded when we showered, and there weren't any mugs. The owner moved us quickly when we asked, but I wouldn't recommend it if you want more than a basic stay. It was also really noisy outside.

We booked a double standard room, but were given a mattress on the attic floor instead. The bathroom was below, and the attic had mould, no windows, and no ventilation. My partner, who isn't sensitive to mould, couldn't breathe, and I started reacting because I'm highly allergic. The mattress was on the floor and absorbing the mildew too. We asked at reception for a different room, but the man said there were none. I understand that, but nobody should be expected to stay in a mouldy attic where neither of us could even stand up. The location was ideal, but we left straight away and weren't offered a refund or even an apology. We've been backpacking around Vietnam and stayed in better two-star places. This was our first issue.

Because it was late, we accepted a room at a sister property with the same name, number 2, after our room had been given to someone else while we were on the way. The sheets were stained and had hair from previous guests, so staff gave us clean ones and we had to make the bed ourselves. The mattress was rock hard, and the road noise was extremely loud through the single-pane windows. The bathroom and shower were old and dirty, making for a very unpleasant night. The room was hostel standard, and I don't understand how this place has good reviews. The original hotel is up a hill, very basic, noisy, below hotel standard, and nothing like the photos. There are three places with this name, numbered 1, 2, and 3, and I found them all equally bad. I would've given zero stars, but had to press one to post this. Please don't go here.
