Da Lat Phu Tho Hotel

After three months traveling around Vietnam, this was the worst hotel I stayed in. The sheets were dirty, stained, and covered in hair. The cleaning staff shouted and laughed outside our door all morning, so we couldn't sleep. While we were asleep, someone opened our room door and looked inside. At checkout, they tried to charge us 10,000 for a bottle of water we hadn't drunk, even though nobody had told us the room's water and noodles cost extra. They also kept 6,000 in change when we checked in, and didn't count it toward the water charge.

I was shocked that the cleaners took my metro card, charger, and headphones from my bag without asking. They returned the metro card, but the other things disappeared from my room, and it ruined the whole stay for me. That’s never happened to me before.

We walked to most of the tourist spots, including Da Lat's Crazy House and the Maze Bar, since the location is fairly central. For around $10 a night, Phu Tho Hotel has lovely, clean rooms. It’s hard to find a better deal.

We had a Quadroom, and it was clean with daily housekeeping. The staff were really friendly and always tried to help whenever we asked. We had hot showers for all three nights, and laundry was 30k per kilo, which was great.
