Sandals Lily Hotel

The staff were very attentive and helped with all our questions. They even brought us tea while we were sitting in reception and went out of their way to help us have a good stay. The main trouble came on the second and third nights. We arrived on Tuesday, and the first night and breakfast were great. Then a very loud group checked in and took over the place. Their unruly kids ran around yelling while the parents were on their phones. I wish the hotel staff had reminded them to behave at check-in. The room was about average, and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate. The coffee was warm rather than hot, which seems to be the Vietnamese way. The bacon wasn’t crispy either, and I’ve found the same even at JW Marriott or park Hyatt. I’m not sure why it’s hard to get bacon right, Vietnamese way again? There’s a lot to like about the location. It’s in the city center, with hoa bình market right across the street and Lien Hoa bakery a short walk away. For a taste of the past, try Sang Ký Mì Gia, a noodle stall that’s at least 60 years old. There are plenty of other food choices too, including manwah hot spot and McDonald’s. There are a few complaints, but it’s a great hotel for a few nights in Dalat because of how central it is. To the owner: I really love the thought and effort you’ve put into making the hotel feel distinctive, from the signature logo on the coffee cup to the lovely mantra “không thể thiếu nhau”. I’m sure lots of people appreciate it without saying so. The upkeep, details, and the staff’s attire and attitude show how much you care about customer service and the experience. Congratulations. I hope the staff can keep meeting that standard. Next time I come back, I’d love some delicious, crispy, crunchy bacon at breakfast!
