Silent Night Dem Lanh Hotel

Hannah made our stay feel like being welcomed into a family. She sorted out everything we needed, from arranging a sleeper bus back to the city to booking trips if we wanted them. The night market is about a 10-minute walk away. After I checked out for a hiking trip on my last day, she even offered me her room so I could shower. I’ve never felt so cared for and welcome.

The room was clean and matched the description, and the location was good. I stayed two nights, though sleep was rough. Someone blasted music in the hallway around midnight on the first night, then people were shouting for hours from about 3 a.m. the next night. Not sure whether it was other guests or staff, but it was frustrating.

The owner upgraded my room as soon as I checked in, even though the one I’d booked was already great value. The new room had a lovely view, was clean and well furnished, and came with a refrigerator stocked with lots of water and even soft drinks. I found the hotel by chance because it’s across the street from a very good bus service that goes to Hoi An. It’s called “Silent Night,” and the soundproofing kept all the street noise out. The owner rented me a motorbike, explained how to use it and what to watch out for, and made sure I had her WhatsApp number in case I ran into trouble. My bus on checkout day wasn’t leaving until 5 p.m., so I left my bag there. When I came back, she offered a free shower before my all-night bus ride and said I could contact her on WhatsApp for help with the rest of my trip in Vietnam. I’d only stayed one night, and she was still that generous. I’d been at a top-rated Airbnb before this and wished I’d stayed here the whole time. I’m not usually into fancy hotels, but this one was an exception, at the same price as my Airbnb.

We were happy here for five days. The hotel is clean, right in the city, and makes it easy to get around. It’s not far from the night market, and renting a bike from the hotel was convenient. Hannah, the owner, is generous, attentive, and helpful, and Duyen at the front desk is lovely and helpful too. I’d recommend staying here in Dalat, and we’ll definitely come back.
