Villa Suoi Mua Xuan

We felt at home here, and we’ll definitely come back on our next visit. The room was clean, good value, and had parking for our family car. Restaurants and cafes are all around the villa, too. From the moment we arrived, the owner made us feel welcome with her warmth and hospitality. Thanks to her for everything. We had a wonderful stay.

There are cafes, convenience stores, and pharmacies close by, and the temple gate out front makes a great spot for Instagram photos. The villa is clean and really pretty, with room for solo travelers, groups, or families. The owner is enthusiastic and lovely, and since she’s local, you can ask her anything about Da Lat. There’s a kitchen for guests who want to cook. One more kitchen downstairs would make it even better.

The rooms are cramped, with no mirror for doing your hair or makeup except the one in the bathroom. You also hear noise from the other rooms so clearly that getting a peaceful rest is impossible. There’s no shower gel or complimentary bottled water. You have to ask for water, and pay for each bottle. The gate is awkward to open and close, there’s no reception, and everything depends on the owner. The hotel is near central Da Lat, but the entrance opens right onto a steep, busy road, so there’s nowhere convenient to wait for a car. A friend recommended the place. If I’d picked it myself, I wouldn’t have stayed, and I won’t return. I rented a motorbike for 150k per day and paid another 85k for gas, which only lasted about 3km. The old bike broke down on the road because it was clogged with fuel. The owner blamed me, saying I’d drained the tank by leaving the engine on. Since it was my friend’s place, I didn’t want to argue or go back and forth. The owner didn’t want to listen and just kept talking. I’ve never come across a Da Lat resident running a hotel this way in my 45 years. I used to be from Da Lat, which makes it especially upsetting. Anyone who wants to stay can try it, but I’m not coming back. July 30, 2022
