White Star Hotel

The location was a real plus, with central streets, marts, restaurants, and nice coffee places an easy walk away. We were traveling on a budget and could live with some compromises, so it worked for our two nights. Still, I'd want longer-stay visitors to know what we ran into. After the host messaged 24 hours ahead, I let him know we'd arrive early after a night bus. He didn't reply. We found the lobby unlocked and unattended, with keys left on the desk, which didn't feel safe as a solo traveler. We got coffee and breakfast while waiting to check in, then were put in a different room from the one booked on booking.com. The room shown in the listing was opposite us and stayed empty throughout our visit. Ours was stuffy, with a wall behind the window, and there was mould in the bathroom. We were badly short on sleep, so earplugs and eye masks helped us get some rest. But on both mornings, around 7-8am, cigarette smoke and loud music from men in the lobby woke us. I think the owner was among them.
