An Bang Beach Hai An Villa

The room itself was spacious and clean, with a comfortable mattress and pillows and good quality sheets. The shower had hot water and strong pressure. The TV had no channels, but YouTube and Netflix worked, slowly. They have a small pool and free bicycles, which were a nice touch. Breakfast ran from 08:00 to 10:00 and had to be ordered the day before. I tried Pho Bo, which was nice, Banh Mi with omelette, which was excellent, and black coffee, which was good. The freshly squeezed Mango Juice and fresh fruit were excellent too, and much appreciated. My main problem was the noise. In the very early hours, I was woken by praying, chanting, barking dogs, and traffic. Check-in was chaotic: the first staff member spoke no English, and my Vietnamese is very limited. Google translator didn't help, so I was about to leave when he called a woman who arrived five minutes later and spoke some English. She kindly let me check in early, but didn't know which room I'd booked, that breakfast was included, or that I'd already paid. Not the start I wanted on my birthday. Check-out was fine. I booked because of earlier reviews, but it seems I was unlucky. I have three flights and 28 hours of travel ahead, after only three hours of sleep, so it's not going to be pleasant. My rating is 2/5.

The owners made a real effort to make us comfortable. Sue and her family surprised my partner and me with a lovely anniversary cake in the morning, which was so thoughtful. Our room was spacious and very clean. Free bikes made the short five-minute ride to the beach easy, and the lively morning food markets are right nearby. This was our favourite place in Vietnam, and we highly recommend it!

The owners were welcoming, kind, and always ready to help, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. There was a wide menu to pick from for the next morning. We stayed three weeks and really enjoyed the villa. Our room was large, clean, and had everything we needed; it was cleaned regularly, with fresh towels and bottled water each day. The beach is about a five-minute walk away, and Hoi An center takes around 10 minutes by Grab. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Hoi An.

It's a lovely, inexpensive family-run place in a great spot, at the far end of the street from the local morning markets and just a short walk to the beach. I really enjoyed staying here. The owners were very friendly and accommodating.
